Does this seem like a good price for what it has with it and will it be able to play some of the higher end games with the settings at least somewhat high?

Yes, and yes. And I'm not aware of anything new coming out soon that's important to a gaming computer.

I would upgrade the RAM latter, since you can buy 8g for 80 bucks (so you do get 12g in there, this laptop have 4 ram slots)

If I were you I would give them a call and haggle a little bit, the other clevo resellers do have a price quote feature, so its worth a check so that you can get some good discount in there, some resellers include: malibal, origin pc, lpc digital, and the list goes on
