Re: Laptop for daily use and 1 certain game.
meeh , the best card i can afford is either gt 540m or 6550m , simply because other ones are too damn expensive here in Europe.
Im pretty sure it will be able to run this on meditum settings at low res.

Re: Laptop for daily use and 1 certain game.
yeah, that should work. I run Crysis 2 at middle settings (high) in 1366x768 at ~30fps on a 5650.

Re: Laptop for daily use and 1 certain game.
It's fine for what you want to do. You can find some coupons for Dells to get them close to your budget if you prefer Dell. Typically Acers have meh grade keyboards and ok screens, and Dell has lots of options for better screens at more cash etc. But in this price range and budget, the Acer offers a lot of bang for the buck.
Also look into the Sager NP5160 from xoticpcLast edited by Sxooter; 11th April 2011 at 04:33 PM.

Re: Laptop for daily use and 1 certain game.
It's a good machine. I'm no fan of Dell but if you can get a good deal on the XPS that's a solid machine with a nice screen upgrade. So is the Sager with similar options.
GT540M and 6550 are about even so pick based on personal preference really. Optimus switching is slicker, ATI switching gives you more control. My preference was what's in my sig, as I wanted more portability than a 15" machine. I'd suggest at least getting to a store with the models you're interested in to see how they look and feel to you.Current primary work machine: Sony VAIO SA
