Of course....
GT555M graphics card? You really think doubt that it will handle well?
You should have just looked at the NBR graphics forum (***CAN MY NOTEBOOK RUN IT?*** Read before posting ***All X vs Y Graphics Card comparisons here ***Read before posting***)
Just curious, what lapotp model is this?

Also, unless you're using it /solely/ for gaming, I'd highly recommend getting the 1920x1080 1080p display upgrade if it shows up on your country's website. It gives you more workspace, and makes it a lot easier to multitask than at 1600x900 resolution in 17".

Re: Help..... Good enought for gaming?
£900 is around US$1474.65 at the time I posted this, so that's around the ballpark for the machine.
As for the graphics cards, the amount of VRAM doesn't make too much of a difference. The number of shaders and clock speeds are more important, so you're better off saving money by going for the 550.

Re: Help..... Good enought for gaming?
You can play those games on a GT540M or ATI 5650 at at least medium settings just fine. The GT550 should be fine, but don't expect high gfx at 1920x1080 or anything.
Current primary work machine: Sony VAIO SA
Current play machine: HP DV6Z-6135DX A8-3400@2.6GHz 6750M
Current backup portable: Acer Aspire One AO722 C50
Past machines: Toshiba T4700, Lenovo T-42, Lenovo SL-400, Lenovo S10 w 9 cell battery, Toshiba T235D Acer 4820TG w ATI 5650M

Re: Help..... Good enought for gaming?
If your willing to pay abouts 1100 pounds i believe , you can get a Gaming laptop. MSI GX660R with i7 quad core , ATI 5870M , Dual hard drives , 15 inch full HD screen , Blu-ray and great audio system. Should get 2 year warranty too. That would be the best option and would last 2-4 years.
Asus G73JH-B1
i7-740QM , 8GB RAM , 1GB GDDR5 ATI 5870M(running on stock but when i want 800/1100
), Blu-Ray
And Now 128GB Crucial C300 SSD+500GB Hybrid Drive
