Question HP Envy 14 Specs Help....

Ok, well I think I will probably end up getting the HP Envy 14, I need good battery life but nothing I cant fix with two batteries. Is it worth it to buy the highest end i7 processor for $400 something dollars more or get the low or middle end i7?? Also what is the performance difference between the i5 and the i7...is it worth it to downgrade to the i5 for better battery life??

dont get the i7. with i7 you will get 2hrs max even with tweaking and leaving the processor state to 5%. Get the i5 580m. The performance difference between the 580m and i7 is only substantial if you are using applications that can use quad cores. With dual core apps, the performance of i5 is actually greater. Most apps are dual cores. Especially games.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I second this. The quad-core i7 is a great performer, but it lacks integrated graphics, forcing the computer to always use the discrete graphics, if you want any battery life at all, go for the i5.

thanks guys, well i am going to wait till the SB processor come out...hopefully they will be out in the next 3 months otherwise I will have to go without one...I really wish the i7s had better battery life, but maybe there will be some new upgrades in the next couple months making battery life better
