and @UR pradhan- switchable graphics is a BIG plus. one of the first notebooks in the market with that is the GE600

I don't recommend the Acer Aspire 5740g anymore. Mine just died while I was using it in the library and it won't turn back on. I tried power resetting it, but that didn't work. So I have to send it back in for repairs and that will be 3-4 weeks without a laptop.

Well, I'm doing RMA through newegg.com and they only allow RMA if it's 30 days or less. I've had it less than a month, but they are sending it to Acer to get it fixed. If Acer can't fix it, newegg.com will be sending me a new Acer Aspire 5740G. Though, Acer should have a 1 year warranty with their computers. This is such a hassle.

Well, if MSI has a better warranty and is known to last a long time. I would probably go with that, but I never brought a MSI computer before so I couldn't really say. Both of the computers have nice specs. Maybe, I just had bad luck and that is why my computer is in the repair shop now. Good luck on choosing the laptop.

ya me too have no idea regarding msi so still in dilemma .. bt will decide in next 2-3 days as my friend will be returning next week.. spending so much and still not satisfied can make anyone feel bad.. that's why i am open for more better options.
