Paid $1270 I think with tax. Its a great deal imo.

But if you are spending $1500+ then definitely get the online version with more memory and higher res screen. Only fools buy the $1600 one from Best Buy.

I definitely wont be spending more than the total of a BB g73. So should I get g73, G51, N61, or just wait for the MSI?

I personally like the MSI because it is smaller and lighter with 16:10 screen (1680x1050). And I'm referring to the GX740, not GX640. The GX640 with i5 is reasonably priced, but only has the i5 cpu, and i7 costs way too much extra, might as well go with the GX740 that comes with i7.

But G73 you have the option for a second hard drive (albeit sounds like you have to buy a separate hdd caddy), and more RAM. Although I don't much see the need for more than 4GB at the moment, or even into the next year or two. By then you could buy a 4GB chip and replace a 2GB one for 6GB total.

I dont need more than 1hdd. Shoot, I dont even need more than 160gb, lol. Also, I agree that 4gb is plenty. If it'll run Starcraft 2 on max everything, then joy to the world for me. Is the GX740 a 16incher?

    Thanks

I pre-ordered the GX640 on amazon. Good idea or bad idea? : http://www.amazon.com/MSI-GX640-098U...0014328&sr=1-1

Will its CPU be able to handle all the things that go on in SC2? Or will only i7's like the one in G73 or N61 be able to handle it?

If you're going to ask a question like that, you're missing out the third possibility: that neither will be able to handle it.

However, I'd expect either CPU to be able to handle Starcraft 2.

i5 or i7 should be able to handle SC2 perfectly fine. Probably even any i3.

For G73, you don't have to get a separate caddy for 2nd HDD, it's built in, if you get a caddy that's 3 HDDs.

Are you sure about that for the Best Buy version?
