click the "specifications" tab, next to details. i just plan on surfin the web, playing old games that dont require much power and if I can watch movies.

2) What size notebook would you prefer? doesnt matter

3) Where will you buying this notebook? Canada

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

doesnt matter

5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed? no

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? web surfing, watching movies and playing old games

7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both? leaving at desk mostly

8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games? not sure exactly which ones, maybe red alert the old one

9) How many hours of battery life do you need? doesnt matter, i can plug it in

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK? id like to see it

11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc. doesnt matter

The HP Pavilion 15.6" has the newest 45nm CPU, newer power efficient chipset and faster HD4200 graphics as shown here. That's the one I'd go for. The rest are older 65nm CPU tech and should be comparatively lower priced than the HP unit.

$500 is a good price. futureshop sell it for $550 with a smaller 250GB HDD here but bigger 4GB, which the supplied Win7 64-bit can make full use of.
