My FAQ, Your Help! :)
General Questions
1) What is your budget?
About 2.5k
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
d. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
3d software, Maya, 3Dmax, photoshop, video editing, games...
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
occassionally both, but mainly to replace my old home computer...
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
I need it to not break a sweat with the Quake and Dooms of this world when you ramp up the resolution...
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I don't appreciate, big names where you pay primarily for the name or look...not when other brands who aren't in your face use the same components. So not Alienware...
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Mainly it'll be plugged in, but 1.5 hours...and an extra battery will be fine...
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
No, so long as I know what I'm getting
9) What country are you buying this in?
UK
Screen Specifics
10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
Not sure....a decent resolution thou for graphic based stuff...
11) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Hmm...not sure....I havent had the chance to see both in the flesh, so to speak.
Build Quality and Design
12) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
They are to an extent....I don't want some ugly brick. It should look quite stylish but I'm not looking to pay for specifically 'designer' chassy's...ie. Alienware....
13) How long do you want this laptop to last?
For that money?...a good long while...
Notebook Components
14) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB?
About 100Gb
15) Do you need a DVD, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-R drive?
I wanna be able to burn dvd's...possibly copy them too, but that'd be an added bonus
Cheers for reading
Mark
p.s. I've been looking at the Rock XTREME 64....which I like, but other specific model suggestions would be most appreciated...

I'd look at Sager, they have very good options for high end power laptops, and won't cost you a second mortgage
Alienware M11x - SU7300 / GT335m / 8gb DDR3 / 60gb Vertex II

Re: My FAQ, Your Help! :)
Sager is excellent, however if you happen to buy a Sager it'd be better to buy from a reseller like www.powernotebooks.com rather than directly from Sager. They're generally cheaper and in some cases have better customer support than Sager itself.

Re: My FAQ, Your Help! :)
Your needs scream Sager 5720 to me. Fast Pentium M processor, good price, decent battery life, great screen, and most importantly a beastly GeForce Go7800GTX. And I personally think it is "quite stylish," kind of a classic, sleek look.
Should just fit in your budget nicely.

Re: My FAQ, Your Help! :)
I second the sager NP-5720, it has a nice sleek look that combines business with pleasure. It doesn't scream gamer yet also doesn't look boring.
Get it through www.powernotebooks.com ! (if you do get it)
