    Default Asus Vs. Sony Vaio

I have been narrowing it down to:

Vaio FW - $1029.00 after rebate

    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665974224

    or

    ASUS K70 - $900 after rumored bing 10% off for newegg.com products

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220620

    What do you think everyone?

Does anyone know if sony.com is having a black friday sale?

Go with whichever you like best. For your purposes the only difference is the screen size. Be aware that you won't get full HD video on either of them unless you output to a display device capable of 1080.

Thanks for the help man. However, I just found out that the ASUS's RAM is already maxed at 4GB. ?

I doubt it. It has 2 slots, so you can get 8GB if you wanted to spend the money to do so.

Look at the specs here (click on tech specs)
    http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-k70ica2-p-2705.html

(it's for the K70IC-A2, and you linked to the A1, but I'm almost positive they didn't change the motherboard between those revisions).

    This one is the K70IC-A2:

However, ASUS's website shows their K70IO can only be expanded up to 4GB:

Well, since xoticPC offers the 8GB upgrade, my instinct is that Asus has incorrectly worded it on their website. There is no technical reason you cannot upgrade that to 8GB. Unless Asus specifically had their bios limit set to 4GB, it will work. I can't imagine why they would do that, but I've seen manufacturers do more idiotic things.

Edit - Now that I think about it, just go post the question in the Asus forum. They'll give you an answer 100%.
