Can anyone give me any suggestions of laptops to consider for a home based business? One that is fast and has a lot of storage capacity with all the other specials add ons I might need later on, like dvd/cd burner etc.

Look at IBM T42 or R51.
Also consider Fujitsu S6210.

Since this is a home based business, you'll probably want to use it for non-business purposes as well. So a fully balanced system with a powerful CPU, excellent graphics card, large storage, etc... should be considered.
There are a few questions that could help us narrow down the options:
1. What is your price limit (US or Canadian dollars)?
2. Do you require portability (long battery life, weight)?
3. Will you be working on highend graphics?
4. Any brands you want in particular?
Without your answers, I can recommend a few notebooks that may fit your current and future needs:
HP ZX5000, ZT3000, NC6000, NC8000
Compaq R3000z
Acer 2012, 2025, 800 & Ferrari 3200
Averatec 6100 Series
Toshiba A70, M30/M35, Tecra M2
These are just a few notebook models that may fit your needs, but there are a lot more out there. Hopefully these will get you started.

For me, the portability is really the determining factor. If you are going to take it with you only sometimes, then a mainstream or DTR is right for you. If you need to take it everywhere, or more often, then a thin and light or ultraportable would be better for your needs.
