Good deal, although since you seem to be on a budget I would not take the $50 upgrade... Pentium Dual Core will be just fine unless you're worried about resale value.

Take it WITH the upgrade. Core2 is a good step up from Dual Core Pentium.

When comparing the performance the Dell is pretty close to the HP....

So I am thinking the Dell is the way to go...It's kind of one of those loops were I think ok for a little more I can get the Compaq and then for a little more I can get the HP but then the performance of the Dell is pretty close so rather than spend $499 why not just go with $409?

I mean if the HP blew the Dell away then I would see paying more....
Again, if I upgrade to the duo core for $50 more now I am at 450 without shipping cost and that's not far from the HP at $499...

Thanks in advance for the input...
