    Cool!

So about 30fps on minimum settings then?

    Thanks!

ATOM is cheap for good reason. If it was a real ATOM it would be free though. :-)

ATOMs can be made, but they will never ever ever get my business.

If AMD had a CPU which outperformed Intel I would go AMD or another CPU brand too.

So far to date the Intel ULV has the best battery life and can get 1.4Ghz or so with dual core.

Acer Timeline 13.3" OEM is Inventec, same as some Fujitsu and Toshiba models so quality shouldn't be that bad. But Acer Support from what Im told is not good.

The online support of Dell is far superior to Acer as well as telephone support and Dell Business class leads.

Thats why Im hesitent on the Acer Timeline. Some models can break easily and support is not the same quality of a Dell or Lenovo.

You need multiple good quality support/service options. Apple, Dell and Lenovo have this. Unfortunately others have fallen short.

    Thanks for your input.

I didn't realize that Acer support was so suspect. I appreciate the heads up.

I've also heard that Dell does have decent support, but their quality control is hit and miss. Is that generally the consensus? Or have I heard wrong?

What are your opinions on HP and Asus? I have brief experiences with the HP DV2 and the Asus 1000HE, and both seemed to be built very well. I don't have any experience with their support though.

What models in Dell and Lenovo would you suggest for me?

    Thanks!

Dell E4200 and Lenovo X200s or Lenovo X301.

Dell E4200 thru DellOutlet can be had for nice pricing. Lenovo Outlet has deals on X200s + X301 occasionally.

X301 is over budget. X200s can be had for around your budget from Lenovo Outlet. Dell E4200 with coupon codes will be under budget.

I haven't bought yet. I don't know what I will do either right now. Am waiting for the next batch of models and full reviews.

Acer is very tempting but I am afraid it will break and support will be non existant which accounts for its very low cost even though they managed to get really nice battery life out of it.

I would have to see it in person before I bought to check the quality of it.

Thanks for your suggestions on the Dell and Lenovo. Both look interesting (especially the X200s), but, they are pretty expensive. I doesn't seem to be a Dell Outlet in Canada. The Lenovo Outlet Canada didn't seem to have anything in the notebook section.

Yeah, I guess waiting until June seems to be the best thing to do at this point and see what gets released and reviewed.

The Acer Timeline is very tempting, but, if their Support is as bad as you suggest, it wont be a very good deal overall.

You didn't mention what you thought of Asus or HP. Any comments about them?

Acer seems to have penetrated the market a fair bit in Future Shop and Best Buy stores up here in Canada, so I hope they will eventually care the Timeline series.

What kind of battery life are you looking for?
