GPU info for Radeon 9600
I have a mobile Radeon 9600 128MB I was using PC Wizard 2004 just looking at system spec's on my new machine. I'm a little confused The main reason I went for this GPU was for it having directX 9 please tell me what this means.
General Information :
Model : Radeon Mobility M10 NP (RV350)
Bus : AGP
Total Memory : 128 MB
GPU Information :
CodeName : RV350
Bus : 128-bit
Memory Type : DDR-SDRAM
GPU Frequency : 310.5 MHz
Memory Bus Speed GPU : 2 x 195.75 MHz
Memory Bandwidth : 6264 MB/s
DirectX Information :
Version : 9.0b
Mode : D3DX
Size of window : 640 x 480 pixels
Instructions : DirectX 7
When it says instructions DirectX 7 dose that mean thats what's build into the chip? so then I can't use any directX 9 features?

It does say DirectX 9b, so it is supported in hardware. Maybe some of the instructions in DirectX 9b are from 7?

Don't worry about it, the 9600 definitely supports DX9

yes, the 9600 is a Dx9 part, you don't have to worry about that.

DaGreek,
You card does support DirectX 9.0, that's one of the main selling points of this GPU. But, I do have to add that the 9.0b reported is the version of DirectX installed and not what version of DirectX the card supports. The version of the instructions used to perform the test is DirectX 7.0. I'm sure of this because it reports the same on my Toshiba Sat Pro 4320 which has an 8MB S3 chipset, and no, I didn't type that wrong, it's only 8MB [
