12", Thin, Internal DVD
Hi,
A collegue of mine is keen to buy a laptop with an 11 to 12" screen.
Main issues - must be thin, light & still have an internal DVD writer.
I think this leaves Lenovo out - they have mighty good processors very thin very light but no internal DVD drive < 13".
Secondary preferences:
Good processor & bus speed.
Pref 3GB RAM, at least 2.
Good service support is top of my list for inclusions on any laptop.
Can be tablet.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Toshiba R500.
Sony TZ series.
Both the above are last year's technology and limited to 2GB RAM.
13" size creates a lot more choice including the Sony Z series or, depending where you are, the Samsung X360.

Re: 12", Thin, Internal DVD
Try the HP EliteBook 2530p, it's a durable business-class notebook:
- if you choose a 1.8-inch hard drive (could be a SSD), you will have a built-in DVD as well.
- LV CPU options, not only Utra LV like the others.
- up to 8 GB RAM
- very good business-level support in AU, As far as I knowVictory is reserved for those who are willing to pay its price.
