    OK so after reading here some and asking some questions Think I have narrowed it down a bit, unless you all start throwing more at me, and please do if you have it

    I dont really know anything about MSI, but you all seem to like them, are they a good company? Was looking to buy from ipowerbuy.com from a like on msi's website, anyone have experience with them.

    You mean ibuypower.com...

    The MSI-1029 is almost better in every aspect, with the exception of the hard drive being 20GB smaller. It is a much better deal - especially considering that it has 4x the RAM, a DVD burner, and a more powerful CPU.

    You'll get better battery life with the Compaq due to it's oversized 12-cell battery (5 hours), but other than that, everything points toward the MSI.

    I'd go on MSI's website and check out who else sells them; I haven't heard the greatest things about ibuypower.

    Yea battery life is not that big a deal, usually near a wall anyways, Havent heard good things from ibuypower or i powerbuy? dang. Any reseller you would recommend for the MSI?

    I am wating for my MSI-1029 from AVADirect... I'll post a review as soon as I get a hold of it...hopefully a day after tomorrow and play with it a little bit.
