alienware m17x
Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help. I am after a machine that will either run almost any game and looks sexy for around £500 - £800. Or if what i understand is correct Clevo have the same chassis as Alien ware. Anyone now if i can get the m17x or a laptop very simlar in looks ( keyboard lights up ) for around £1000. I am thinking of the new flame ridden Qosmio, but i really dont like th eglossy keys.
I know there is a template for requests but all i said above is all i care bout, screen and make etc etc make no odds to me
Cheers,
Oh and it has to be UK based as import duties are far to high to by from the states

Re: alienware m17x
Alienware used to use Clevo notebooks for their Sentia, Area-51 and Aurora lines.
Then Alienware went to Arima systems ... for their m9700 and m9750 models.
Now Alienware notebooks (m15x and m17x) are coming from Quanta... which might have a been a mistake now that you look at the numerous issues with the build quality and heat.

I have seen the new Toshiba X300-11S which i like, just not to keen on the glossy keyboard, i might be swayed if i can confirm spec is as good as it appears.
I also like the new alienware17x, but many peeps have had plastic issues with them, also the customer service seem really bad.
Some Clevo notebooks look good but they all appear to expensive

Re: alienware m17x
gintor, there is no need to make 3 threads on what notebook you want to buy. Make one thread and leave it at that in the future.
Skip the XPS M1710, it is very outdated. The M1730 is a waste unless it has an 8800M-GTX. The Toshiba X300 is the best choice out of all of those, but it is huge and the build quality is only okay in my opinion.
See if you can find a Clevo M570RU or M570TU for under 1000 quid. Take a look at the Clevo Guide. I know you said you looked before, but it's worth looking again.NotebookReview Writer & Reviewer
