CD rom drive
ok, i got a nice CD/DVD drive but its malfunctioning, ( its toshiba) i checked out the toshiba site and they got a driver, now my question is if all the ports are the same and i can put in this new driver which most likely isnt the same type as mine into my port without ne problems.

I would do a google search for the driver name and the model of your drive to see if anyone has had success in getting it to work. Because it's just a driver and not firmware, I can't see anything terrible happening if they are not compatiable. If anything, you should just get an error message or Windows will not 'find' the driver.
