    Default Dothan vs. Turion!

Nice lengthy article on comparing an Acer 8104(Dothan 760 2.0ghz) verses an Acer Ferrari 2005 (Turion ML-37 2.0ghz):

    http://www.laptoplogic.com/resources/articles/42/1/1/

Most stuff are as expected: Dothan better at interger stuff and Turion better at FP stuff, blah blah blah, but the REAL surprise is on page 13 -- Battery life!

    http://www.laptoplogic.com/resources/articles/42/13/1/

It seems that while at *peak* load, P-M is more energy efficient, at *normal* load, the Turion ML-37 outpaces the PM by almost 20 min ! Interesting indeed...

    cheers,

    yass

i would choose AMD's processors if dell had them with those irresistable coupons...cuz if they did..then i wouldn't think twice about getting a 64-bit processor from dell

Seems to me those "irresistable coupons" only pull the cost down to where it should be... I always chuckle when I see how much Dell charges for customized items like Wp Media or Pro, MS Office choices, better HDs or upgraded screens.

not really...i'd like to see u find another laptop other then a dell 9300...fully specd out and equal in specs to the 9300 for the price that u can get with the $750 off coupon or the 35% or 40% off coupons
