xps m1330 might be a wee bit too small for you to enjoy multimedia. get the m1530 with 9 cell battery and spend a little more money into upgrading to a better (best you can afford to get) processor since you will be running many applications at once. vostro is also a good choice (as Lithus said) especially if you want more for your money.

true, sager is far more durable and has better customer service than dell. cheaper too. get the 15.4 version though for multimedia.

I would also look at the Force 3298 at xoticpc.com. It does start out higher then its twin the Sager 2092 but optioning them out similarly the Force is actually cheaper with a standard full 3 year warranty on parts & labor. Plus you can choose from all recent versions of windows from Xp Home-Vista ultimate. With the Sager/Force you get a decent card 8600 GT that will play C&C 3. You can build a Force 3298 with 2.1 GHz T8100 "Penryn" Dual Core proc, 3gb ram, 160 GB 5400 hdd, wireless card, and Win XP for $1366 regular price or $1325 with discount. If you go for the 250GB 5400 Hdd it costs $1504 reg, $1459 discounted. I hope this helps.

Both of them are rebranded Compal IFL-92's, so just find the cheaper configuration for yourself.

wow all this helps but just so you know i get 12% university discount from dell and the vostro is not included in that.

Oh btw whats better vostro or its equivalent inspiron. looks quality performance.

I don't really care bout customer service/tech support i figure out most of my problems and avoid contact with them as much as possible anyway.
Its not a decision factor so much as an afterthought.

Vostros have a dedicated video card. Inspirons do not. Sagars are very reliable.
