Us Dell Inspiron 1501 or 1520 - AMD vs. Intel?

I need a windows-based notebook to use for my small business. I plan to run simple applications like my older version of MS Office and a Tax Prep. program, as well as some occasional web surfing. I don't expect to do anything fancy, but want the option to occasionally download and watch a movie from Netflix. I plan to use the notebook outside in bright sunlight so it needs the anti-glare screen, and I strongly prefer to run Windows XP.

I copied and pasted the two I have narrowed it down to below. I'd like any guidance with specs. and any advice on the difference between the two systems (it seems to be in the processors - AMD vs. Intel - any advice on the value of going for the Intel Core 2 Duo instead of the AMD Turion?)

Areas I was less-than-confident in how to customize include -

    - I want the newest wireless card if it's likely to pick up more friendly networks when I'm not at home - Is that accurate thinking? Is it worth the money at this stage, or is it only useful when people have that type of wireless card?

    - Am I likely to regret not getting the fastest processor 2.2 (GHZ) at some point in the next 3 years?

    - Do I need more than 1 GB of RAM for Windows XP? Any reason to buy more?

    - Is it likely to be helpful to me to have XP Professional if my business expands next year? I may want 2 desktops to be networked with the notebook.

    - If I'm not a gamer, is there any reason to get a fancy media card?

    - Are the prices below fair compared to what else is out on the market? I wouldn't mind another suggestion if there's a really solid computer out there that fits my needs. I just didn't know anything about the brands other than Dell. I didn't really want an Inspiron, but the anti-glare screen made me cancel my order for the vostro...

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!!

Forget the 1501, get newer Inspiron with C2D, so the 1520 is a welcome

Since your a business, have you considered a Dell Vostro? I made a similarly configured Vostro 1500 (a black Inspiron 1520) whose subtotal price comes to $947.

I would pick the Vostro, you can get the T7500 and 2 Gb ram for future proof, since you may very well be using Visa later on. And within 3 years you probably will want to buy another notebook.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

The only problem with those other models is the glossy screen. I canceled my order for a Vostro when I realized it had a glossy screen. It's not an aesthetic preference, but a necessity, as I conduct most of my business outside in bright sunlight. Plus, I really hate Windows Vista. Any suggestions?

Latitude series have non glossy screen. Best part is that it won't get too warm or even hot than most of the cheap laptops.
I'm quite happy with my D630, Nice design, reliable.
Not for gaming that for sure, but for everything else it is quite good.
Even with 6cell battery I get everything done 4h+

Ask for more information if needed.

What makes a Latitude or an XPS better than an Inspiron because when I compare specs. it seems that the Inspiron gives you the most bang for the buck?

If you are not looking to play games or hardcore graphing stuff there is no need to go with the M1530 like someone above mentioned. I would def recommend you the 1520 since it has a better processor.
