Re: Desktop = deaddeceasedphailedrejected
Toe
The Prices for that dell are great
but they dont let you get an 8700 or an 8800 upgrade just a damn 8400 or 8600
ARGHH!!!
i had a BFG 7800 overclocked before I want something that Ill actually see an in performance in you know?
Its all so difficult lol
Im probably going to go to costco and get a random laptop with an 8600 and install a bunch of crap on it and see how it runs on med-high settings and if it works then great.
Anybody know how the 8600 compares to the 8700 and the 8700 to the 8800 GTS and X?

Re: Desktop = deaddeceasedphailedrejected
I just googled where to buy barebones laptops and I cant find anywhere to buy one, and they all have dinky screen res and sizes. I dont care about battery life, for me its just about having a computer I take lug around with me to make life easier and keep me in touch with everything I need. And so I can do my gaming when I take trips

http://rjtech.com/
they are a popular reseller of clevo barebones. the most bang for the buck that you can get is probably with the toshiba x205.
edit: or the gateway that has been reviewed recently (check reviews section). i can never remember the model number.Last edited by ejl; 24th January 2008 at 10:51 PM.

Re: Desktop = deaddeceasedphailedrejected
Here is what ejl is talking about::http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....#productdetail. IMO best deal for a laptop i could find and then just buy a 2.2 ghz or 2.4 merom processor off of newegg to swap the processor(comes with 1.66 ghz, but also comes with 3gb ram, 250 gb hadr drive, and 8800m gts!!)
Also, you should definitely look at the sager np5792 (http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np5792-...ru-p-2276.html) for bang of the buck and of course, the 8800 m gtx
Skullcap Alienware Area-51 M15x:
1920 x 1200 Matte
T9300@2.5 gHz
4 gb RAM
Intel x25-m G2 80 GB
ATI Mobility 3870

Re: Desktop = deaddeceasedphailedrejected
That gateway P-6831FX
Thats pretty much my choice as of now. It dosnt have the 8800 GTX but is there a HUGE difference between the GTS and GTX? And putting buying a faster processor then one extra gig of ram is no problem. As soon as my dad wakes up im making him buy it lol. God ive done a week of searching why hasnt that damn thing come up???
