depends on your usage, i would always say the 1520 between these two as a 1.4" difference is nothing and for the price it is so much better to get the 15.4", if you are doing basic browsing, emailing and word processing then the T5250 is fine, if you want to game and do heavy multi tasking stuff then go for at least a T7100 as a bare minimum in the 1520 maybe even a T7300 if you can stretch your budget!

The difference isn't really the processor- It's the graphics card. If you are choosing the 8400GS, then I believe the prices of both units are nearly same. You can very well choose the T7100 in the 1520.

Re: inspiron 1420 (t7100) or inspiron 1520 (T5250)
Also it depends on size notebook you want. The 1420 maxes out with the 8400GS, but weights 1lbs lighter than the 1520 and shold get better battery life with the 9 cell. Cnet did a review on the 1420 and it neted 3 1/2 hours on a dvd drain test. We can safely say this notebook should get well over 5 hours. With some undervolting, and dimm screen, can you say 6 hours with a dedicated gpu.

probally no coupons there, but you could try calling with your order, and haggling with the rep to see if he will give you X $ off.

in india there are no discount coupons , all the benifits are included in the discounted price for everone, irrespective of whether u hv any coupon, .. a bit of bargaining with sales rep. can get u stuuf like free mouse,, but thats abt it. I RECENTLY BOUGHT 1520, but i had a friend bring it for me from singapore..it was a whopping RS. 25,000 /- cheaper compared to the indian price..!!
