Us Need a video editing machine

I am looking at spending about $3500-4000 at the most. I need something with good graphics because I will be doing a bit of video editing. Nothing too major. It will spend most of the time at my desk so weight isn't big issue but I don't want to throw my back out. I don't really know anything about macs but I have been wanting to try them out and have heard that for photo and video they are the way to go. I think I really need a 17 inch with wuxga res. I think glossy would be best. any help would be appreciated

So Far this is what I am looking at.

    MacBook Pro, 17-inch, 2.33GHz
    Part Number: Z0DR
    Final Cut Express preinstalled
    2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
    SuperDrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    Accessory Kit
MacBook Pro 17-inch Glossy Widescreen Display
    Backlit Keyboard/Mac OS - U.S. English
    160GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm

Wow, that's a really large budget. In that case, really the MacBook Pro will fit fantastically. You can afford it and Final Cut Express is the way to go. Check my post in your other thread.
