Question about DVD drive firmware
Hi there... 1st post!
I recently got a M40-YP3 (sitting in the back room at Staples for a while, open box, mint, got it with full warranty for $900 CAD with 3 yr warranty thrown in ;-))))
Anyhooo...
I upgraded the firmware on the DVD burner with the utility from the website (I think it was for another Tohiba unit, but it recognised the drive and proceeded with the firmware upgrade no problem. THe drive is working fine, but I noticed that the firmware date is messed up and am concerned that something was wrong with the flash.
See attached pictre of the firmware date. Is there a place to get the old firmware version, re-flash it and try again??

Thanks in advance!

Re: Question about DVD drive firmware
The DVD burning software was not provided by Toshiba with my expereinces with their newer notebooks - they were provided by SonicRecord. However, you can update the DVD/CD drive drivers through Toshiba. If the drive is giving you problems, I'd try going to Toshiba's site and see if you can dig any updated drivers/BIOS for your notebook.
