Toshiba Laptop function keys
I currently own a toshiba R500-S5006X laptop and my (FN) functions keys at the top stopped working, for exammple, I hit the FN key + F6 which is supposed to lower my screen brightness but it does not work, or FN+Esc to mute/unmute does not work.
I don't know if this makes a difference but when I hit the FN key the green light on the F10 screen ALWAYS lights up, and if I hit FN+F10 then the green light always stays lit and messes with my cursor
Any help? Thanks
Sharad

Re: Toshiba Laptop function keys
If your model relies on drivers for the FN keys to work, make sure that they are installed/up to date.
Drivers for your model here:

Re: Toshiba Laptop function keys
The driver page is very poorly organized. I believe that this is the one:

Note that it is for Windows XP. Make sure that your current driver is removed before attempting to install this driver; the old one can be removed from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel."Earth" Desktop | Asus 21.5" 1920x1080 | C2D E6750 @ 3.0GHz | 4GB RAM | 500GB + 1TB HD | Radeon 6850 | Corsair TX650 | Windows 7 64-bit

Re: Toshiba Laptop function keys
You need Toshiba Power Saver (windows service) and Toshiba Flash Cards (ugly and very slow cards, which is showed, whed Fn is pressed).
Toshiba Flash Cards must be enabled. There is no option to disable these cards without disabling Fn functionality.Diagon Swarm - NOTEBOOK.cz (Czech laptop magazine) / ~250 laptop and tablet reviews
