I have an HP dv2000 and a Fujitsu T5010. Both are relatively ok in terms of looks IMO so I'm content. I think looks are more of a bonus factor as in perhaps something which would sway me from one machine to another in the case where nearly everything else was the same, but I'd personally never sacrifice anything else for it. If looks mean a subpar cooling design or a lesser functionality(ex: ports at bad places for unsturdy feel) then I say no

I like business class notebooks. My T5010 is just gorgeous; it has a majestic simplicity and style to it ^_^ Not to mention it feels awesome to use :D

Nice.:D The Fujitsu S6520 (Black version, AP only?) is very nice looking, even better in person. Thin side bezels.

This thread has been going on for a long time . . . last time I posted was April 2006.

The looks were definitely a buying factor for both of my current notebooks; HP Pavilion dv5t (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4555) and ProBook 5310m (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=432540).
Agreed as well - my dv5 has a very similar design and looks fantastic.
