Any thoughts? Some say the SLI dual 7800GTXs on the Sager plus the AMD will easily best the 7900GTX 2.0GHz Centrino on the XPS.

I'm torn, since I'd shopped WidowPC and their Dual Core SLI system was about a grand more expensive than the XPS, but the Sager seems to be the same price with 2GB vs. the 2.0GHz/1GB/7900GTX config I got with my M1710.

I would keep your M1710. You already have a fantastic notebook, and it really isnt worth it.

The M1710 core duo would smash the turion processor.

OK, makes me feel better. I just installed Star Wars: Empire at War and it runs pretty well at 2xAA and max settings at 1900x1200. Scrolling isn't perfectly smooth, but I'm used to that running C&C Generals on my 2.8GHz P4 with Radeon 9800XT.

I suppose 2GB is in store for this baby down the line, although I have to say, the Widow PC SLI Dual Core looks really nice. If I had to change anything, I'd go with a lower rez display, since 1900 on this unit is really overkill. I'd settle for a 1680 or something, maybe even 1280 wide. That way WoW would run natively... But again, SW:EAW looks seriously NICE at full rez.

your saying WoW doesn't run native resolution on the M1710. i can run it native on my 9300 with the WUXGA screen and the GF 6800. it should be able to demolish WoW, since it demands so little.

On my WoW, I don't see any 1900 modes available on my 1280 Viewsonic equipped desktop PC, but I guess (?) that's because the game knows the system won't go higher ?
