Cool, good luck let us know how it goes. If it works I may do the same for my 9550.

There is no if, I had a 9550 and 9560 and swapped batteries to prove this months ago.

Where is the best place to pick one up? I'm looking on eBay mostly overseas. Thanks.

I got one from overseas as well... It seems to be the only place to buy one. I couldn't even get one from Dell directly when I called this week - it's an utter joke.

I would use the lack of stock against Dell and tell them you will be going to small claims court to see if it will encourage them to replace it.

    Hi everyone

I managed to buy the 97whr battery directly from Dell. Have had it installed for about 2 weeks and it works well.

The bad news is that according to HWMonitor it already has 17% wear :( It started off at about 4% and has been declining slowly since.

Any ideas? Should I try return it?

    Thanks

Obviously you should demand an exchange :)

This is assuming you followed advices on this forum to set the battery management to standard so it charges fully each time.

Man, what a fiasco with Dell and the XPS battery. Ended up ordering one from a US seller on eBay. Picture and description say geniune and I receive one that is slightly different in how the cables exit the battery pack. Now I'm trying to get a refund there but wants to ship me one from China.

Spent 1 hour on phone with Dell warranty, out of warranty and sales. They don't even have 9550 or 9560 batteries to sell me. No where to complain. I spoke to two different supervisors and they had no solution.

Going to buy a 9550 84Wh from this place although I would prefer the 97Wh. They claim it's geniune.

I'm not a fan of Apple but this would never have dragged so long. Pretty sad for a OG $2K laptop.

Have a great Labor Day everyone.

Tell them you are starting a credit card chargeback for the entire laptop if they can't provide spares within warranty and ask for the address to return it to as the card claims rep has told you to return it tracked and they will refund you on arrival then claim the money back from Dell.
They have no idea how you paid, It is several departments from any of the support people.

FYI they will need to supply a 9560 97wh, it will fit and work as I tested it myself.
