Ok so gaming is bad, I struggled to get bf4 to work on the lowest setting, and I am unable to run it in 1600x900 mode without actually changing the pc's dpi. Lotro ran great(mmo). When playing both games the laptop after a minute felt like it was going to melt it was so hot, both cpu and gpu were over 72c.

As for battery, I have the top teir and its great, I had battery only and left my xps on downloading all night with no sleep mode, next morning it was still half full. I was then able to watch a 2hr movie on it before having to charge.

I have non-cloud CS6. At native-res and scaled to 200%, all the menus and toolbars in photoshop are tiny. The display is really sharp however, so everything is cleary visible and clickable and usable. Just small. I just now tried knocking the res down to 1600x900 and 100% scaling to see what photoshop looks like. It looks quite good, actually. Almost as good as native res. You could only call it 'fuzzy' compared to the super-crisp native-res text. This would be a perfectly workable option, if you don't want to deal with tiny-ville. You just lose the crazy-sharp image detail of 1800p.

72c for a laptop under load is to be expected and not really all that hot.

Were you gaming on battery or on mains? I understand most systems will throttle if on battery. Seems like it shouldn't have struggled that much.

My rMBP gets much hotter than 72c while gaming on Windows, up into the 80's most of the time. Staying in the 70's on a laptop would be excellent.

How is the performance in various games?
Also, how is the touchpad with synaptics driver in terms of smoothness, scrolling, etc.

I will when mine comes tomorrow (after my exam wee).

It'll be just a quick 5 minute one at first. Then i'll post up some more photos of whatever people want (that Bokeh hasn't already posted in the M3800 thread).
