Because the problem is now on the service and not on the BIOS, I expect this to affect multiple XPS versions

could anyone that is experienced on WSL to run my script? The full instalation instructions are on the file itself

@pedro estrela why would any sane person have any Dell tools installed on their laptops especially the Dell support assistant remote trojaner?

Because the first thing support asks to laptops under warranty is if you have all updates and drivers from their support page.
    Which includes this hideous thing.

Dell updates are unfortunately not reliable enough to have them install updates automatically. It is healthier to check for updates manually, and install them with a few weeks delay, if you don't see user complaints around here, Dell reddit and their support forum.

For the purpose you mention, it is healthy to buy the XPS with a small SSD where you keep the factory OS for debugging/warranty puproses, while you use another drive regularly.

For serious audio use, you might have to do more than just get rid of SupportAssist ;(

    Hello,

My XPS 9550 4k just bricked. I'm considering a 9570 4k as an upgrade and would like to know if i can just swap in my hard drive from the 9550 to the 9570 without doing a clean install. Thank you.

Search the XPS threads here for potential solutions. Very few 9550s brick so yours might be recoverable.

If nothing works, you could look for used 9550 motherboards. They are not super cheap or super easy to install.
I don't think that would work as the hardware and drivers are significantly different.

If you have a 2.5" HDD or SSD, those only fit inside the XPS models with small battery (and optional cabling-tray).

UPDATE about the seconds of Latency:

    • Previously I recommended to just disable the services.
      • This is not enough. Something reactivated the services some week(s) later.
    • New recommendation: Un-Install all Dell sofware with has "support" in the title.

I am thinking of upgrading the motherboard of my 9570 to a 7590 motherboard. What do you guys think? It will be compatible? Anyone tried? Because my 1050ti died and if i need a new board the 7590 would be a better deal.
