You can now get it for cheap (Save $200)

    • Dell XPS 15 Laptop with 8th Gen i7 processor - $1,349.99 (Save $200) -- Doorbuster Friday, 7/5 at 11AM ET also available Thursday, 7/11 at 11AM ET

Dell Prime Day slashes $200 off the XPS 15 9570 and $700 off the Alienware m15 with Core i7 CPU

It's important to note that the deals will not be in effect until July 1st and that many will be spread across a two-week period to minimize the risk of traffic overload and empty shopping carts at checkout.

So, am I stupid for even considering a new XPS15 after the failures with the 9570? Both Lenovo and HP seems to be dragging their feet with releasing updated "power models".

If you need a laptop, I would consider the updated version coming out this summer. Maybe with the OLED panel.

You know this series of XPS models well so you can figure if it is buggy in a few days and just return it.

Personally, I will wait for Intel to move from the Skylake platform which might happen 2020 or 2021.

    Windows 10 ver.1903

Windows update report my 9570 not ready for update to ver.1903, anybody else having same problem or know why it is not ready (all ver.1809 updates installed)? I have not tried to do manuel update yet.

Found the reason, USB stick prevented update

I have an xps 15 9550. If i were to get a new xps in the future, would you suggest the 9570 or 7590?

    My requirements are

    1. Quad core laptop which seems all of the 9570s has
    2. 97whr battery
    3. Minimum 512gb ssd. Might even want a 1tb ssd.
    4. 16gb memory
    5. Non 4k Screen as i want long battery

Do you agree to always buy the laptop as is with the specs you want such as 512gb ssd and 16gb ram compared to buying one with 256ssd and 8gb ssd... and then you buying the 512ssd and 16gb ram on amazon and then having it installed yourself? But if you cannot do it yourself, it would not make sense pricewise to buy those parts since going to repair shop, they going to charge at least $40 to install the new ssd and another $40 to install ram right?

I also took a look at reviews of the 9550, 9560 and 9570 from someone here on this forum who posted review on it. He seem to say the 9550 is very good... the 9560 was the best... but the 9570 is the worst. Is this true or false? I read his review say the 9570 has more issues than any of the old models. Is this true? Example even said the 97wh battery seem to be worst than the battery of the previous modes.

Are most ppl here dissatisifed with the 9570? I seen so many negative reviews with it.

I hope Intel and nvidia GPU drivers are updated to latest ones from their website?
Check Intel rapid storage version if its below 17.1 get the latest drivers from Intel website and see if it fixes the issue.
