    Below is a compilation of the latest drivers/firmware/software for the XPS 15 9560 that I always install first during setup, this will be mostly for my own reference and you will not need all the software mentioned in here.

    I will try and keep this thread up to date as new drivers come out.

    Since Dell often provides outdated drivers which ignore important fixes, I will use the original drivers whenever possible:
    I recommend setting up with no internet access, to prevent Windows Update from auto-installing drivers
    ==Required==

    ==Depending on HW config==
    IF YOU HAVE A NVIDIA 1050:
    IF YOU HAVE A SSD (firmware list) NOT UP TO DATE:

    IF YOU HAVE A Harddrive:
    ==================================================================================
    POST INSTALL (and letting Windows Update do its thing):
    From powershell w/ Admin (Remove all apps except store):

    • Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | where-object {$_.name –notlike "*store*"} | Remove-AppxPackage
    • Get-AppxProvisionedPackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –notlike "*store*"} | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage –online
    From CMD w/ Admin (disable windows tracking):
    • sc delete DiagTrack
    • sc delete dmwappushservice
    • echo "" > C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\ETLLogs\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl

    ==================================================================================

    Software (install after drivers and allowing windows to update) NOT UP TO DATE:

    ==General==
    ==Development==
    ==Image viewing/processing==
    ==Video==
    ==Modeling==

    You need to be more specific, can you adjust brightness using the fn keys? Can you adjust brightness from power settings?
    If you can do the latter but not the former, try pressing fn + f12 or fn + f11. If it works now, then you need to change fn lock options from bios.
    If neither work, I would probably try installing the intel chipset drivers one by one. And doing a clean Windows 10 install as a final option once all others have been attempted.

    lists below i have tried (brightness bar shown on display).

    1. out of the box adjust without Fn key. the brightness level bar is working. but no dim light changes. even in power Setting.
    2. changed Fn Bios setting in bios. now need to press & hold Fn+(F11/F12).
    3. Clean install Windows 10 Home Edition from DELL Service tag boot UEFI still the same(brightness wont change).
    4. Drivers have been installed every single of them include bios 1.3.3 Dell latest driver 9560.
    5. Streaming video while changing the brightness cause of sound and display freezes. brightness bar showing but still display brightness stuck.
    6. brightness bar ( horizontal slider) in bios still no luck.

    Intel driver i have tried:
    xxx.4590
    xxx.4614
    xxx.4627

    Nvidia:
    382.05
    373.06

    thanks

    Good catch. I was using "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC" as a search term in windows update, which should've caught the 8152 version, but for some reason did not.

    Arrgh, DOH! Dell has a v6.0.1.8117 driver here (didn't realize that until recently).

    Even though that 8117 package dell has is for Inspiron 5378/5578/7378/7579/7779 laptops, it should also work on the XPS 9560. Use 7zip or any file archiving utility to view the 8117 (247CF) driver package and extract all files & folders inside onto a temporary folder and run setup.exe from the RealtekHDAudio folder (do NOT run the DELLMUP.exe file).

    Check the realtek audio hardware ID in the Device Manager app on the XPS 9560 and see if the Realtek hardware device ID is listed in the HDXMA7.INF file, and if so, install the 8117 drivers & the maxxaudio software and reboot.

    Microsoft has recently posted v6.0.1.8166. Install v8117 first before updating to v8166.
