    Hi,

My Samsung Ativ Book 9 is excellent.... but getting old now. I'm looking to buy something similar and the XPS 13 9380 seems like the best option... correct me if wrong.

Unfortunately the configuration I want is not offered by Dell.... can't get a 1TB SSD in an InfinityEdge Non-Touch Display.... it maxes out at 512GB SSD

I'm thinking of purchasing the laptop with a 256GB SSD and buying my own Samsung to install ...
I assume Dell would have to install the SSD in order to maintain warranty... I'm also not interested in doing it myself anyway. I plan to get Dell's Premium Support warranty in order to get international coverage.

So my questions: Will Dell swap the SSD for me that I bought myself? Seeing that Dell doesn't have service centers in Canada, would a technician come to my house to do it? Would there be a fee for the service? Is it worth the hassle?

    Many thanks for any thoughts.

I don't know if Dell would swap in a part you didn't purchase from them. You can swap the SSD yourself and maintain the warranty. It's not difficult if you have the tools to do it and the ability to reinstall windows. If you can't do it, do you have a buddy that would be willing to help you? You can always ask Dell, but my guess is they would want you to buy the part from them (at a much higher cost).

    Thanks for that.

I'm leaning toward buying the xps with a 512GB SSD and living with it.... or going to a different company.

Unfortunately I can't see the XPS where I currently live. What's the laptop like in terms of screen glare?

I was looking at the Samsung Notebook 9 pen today... everything looks great..... except the screen is like a mirror. I'm used to a matte screen.
