Does anyone have one of these? Can you comment on the thermals? The heatsink design? I'm currently trying to decide between the X7 or the AW17 and would really like to hear from people that actually have the X7 with the gtx1080 7820hk.

It's a pretty warm notebook. Here are NoteBookCheck's thermal results

Is your x7 repasted? or is it just stock repaste?
I just got mine and ran some benchmarks, mine never got past 90 highest for me was 82. But I did get a repaste with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut.
I dont know much about the AW17 but assuming that it is a bigger machine it should run cooler, but also again repasting helps best when it comes to thermal.

Wow that is pretty amazing under 70C at OC
I would definitely go with an AW17 but for me portability means a lot since I travel. So that is why I stuck with the X7

The Alienware heatsink design worries me, I see a lot of people complaining about the tripod design and bad thermals - just wondering if that was an issue with the X7.

The X7's love metal paste, if you really want to bring temps down. High temp is the nature of the best due to how thin it is even though their design has greatly improved with the top side ventilation.
