Just looking to see if this problem has happened before. I have a 1.5 month old X301 with the LED screen and initially it worked well. After about 3 weeks of use the screen will become fuzzy - as if the interlacing is not working and eventuallyt becoming unreadable. This typically occurs after being used for a few minutes - to a few hours - one either battery or AC power.
If an external monitor is connected at the same time as the screen is having problems - the external monitor will be fine with no screen corruption. All computer funtionality remains - it is merely the fact that the notebook screen becomes unreadable.
The screen can become readable by pressing on on various parts of the notebooks - but it is completely random as to where to apply pressure.
I have sent it back once for repair and the motherboard was replaced. It is scheduled to go back again (as it failed out of the box) and I was hoping to provide some additional information if it is out there.
    Thanks.

May be as simple as an LCD connector cable left loose when the planar was replaced - not an uncommon scenario, unfortunately. Does need to be sent back, however.
