Hi guys, Bought this ThinkPad X220 and installed fresh Windows but unable to figure out what these 2 devices are though I tried to run and install almost all of the Drivers from the Lenovo X220 site. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
Installing Intel Management Engine Interface will get rid of the PCI Simple Communications Controller as an unknown device. I can't remember I've ever seen the "PCI Serial Port" on my W520, but installing all the drivers from Lenovo when I clean-installed it in 2012 got rid of all questionmarks if I remember right. Is your cardreader working btw?
Thks for the heads up. I've downloaded 2 versions from Lenovo and 1st one, I'm unable to run it via cmd as instructed in the Read Me. The 2nd one installed well but adds in an Intel Management Control Panel which I think is an overkill and unnecessary as I don't use such features.
Did you save a copy of the SWTools folder? It contains all the drivers and applications installed on your X220. If so, you could search the folder and find the driver. System update is another option.
Hey thks guys for all the help. I've downloaded another set of Drivers which allows the Device Manager to successfully update the Drivers without any problems.
I have this same issue on an X220 that I just put in an SSD and Win10 on. Can you tell exactly what drivers you used and from where?
