You know I'm just kinda disappointed in how this mad rush for widescreen turned 4:3 to 16:9, just some comparison pictures.

Is that a flexview in the T60?

I'm from the future. If you think you hate 16:9, just wait for 2.39:1 to become popular. ;)

the T60 model that Tsunade has is a 14 inch model, so it is not a flexview screen. Just a regular TN LCD.

I got three of these SXGA+ model T60 (some backlight is already ready to give out). They are really good business machine, one of my favourite.

The X61t with the SXGA+ is also very good, i got a X61t XGA like the one shown. The only thing i really hate is how loud the fan can be when the CPU is pushed.

But the X61t is a really polished machine.

SXGA+ was kinda out of my budget, maybe if I can find a top portion for dirt cheap with SXGA+, as you can see this unit is pristine. :p

Lol I did that with my X61t... got an X60t with SXGA+, turned the X61t into a Frankenpad, and gave the remnants to my dad. Hawt.

16:9 is unusable in portrait mode.

More like un-inkable. With multitouch you can at least read off of it in portrait mode. Still no comparison to 4:3. X(

I bullied my sister-in-law by telling her to give me back the SXGA+ X60t as soon as she upgrades to something else.

Ha when I get that X60t, I'm gonna gut the LCD and get a SXGA+ X61t.

A pretty smart move, since the original panel revision is not prone to "bubbling" like the later one...

I dislike the heat emission of X61T when compared to X60T and that's why I stuck with the latter, but to each his/hers own.

Just picked up a X61t myself from uni surplus (L7500, 2GB, XGA screen). Haven't had time to mess around with it, but I'm pretty excited to get it up and running with Win7 and OneNote. Hoping to find an X-25M 80GB for cheap somewhere.

Should be awesome for next semester, since I'm actually starting to take classes again (this time for Ph.D).

So after about 2 hours, swapped the parts X60 tablet SXGA+ into my X61 tablet. Needless to say, after alot of cursing, blistered fingers, done! And my gosh SXGA+ on 12" is sweet!

SXGA+ on 12" definitely is great.   but, how did you manage two hours and blistered fingers from swapping assembled upper halves on two tablets?

I also pryed off the X61 bezel cause I bought an X60 tablet, and was fuming cause Lenovo uses double sided tape on the bezel.  Also took me awhile to remove the hinge cap...derp. The HMM was kinda useless in describing how to pry it off without it feeling like you are going to snap it in half.

Incidentally, I dug out my T61p last week. Even without having it directly next to the W510 one *immediately* feels the "relief" looking at a 16:10 WUXGA when used to a 16:9 "FHD".

So it seems our permanent complaining about screen formats and resolution is not just whining or nostalgia but a real issue.
