Even though my panel looks fine, because it's not the new one, I think it's defective and therefore should be replaced.

    :D

I should try that approach when they release the successor to the T420...

I'm definitely getting my panel replaced soon. I sent a private message to the mod in the thread at the lenovo forums on the best way to proceed.

I have priority, next day on-site, but I want to confirm somehow that I'll be getting a new panel.

Honestly, i can't wait to get this fixed. The throttling issue is gone, and the fan sounds normal, both fixed in the bios updates. Soon I'll have the ultimate laptop!!! :D

So any builds post mid-august would have the new panel?

    Quit trying to mock me.

I paid 50 bucks for a PREMIUM screen upgrade.

    1) Light bleed from at least 5 places
    2) Image retention
    3) Uneven gaps where the 2 plastic pieces on the lid meet.
    4) Yellowish tint over the whole screen.

Sorry but this IS a problem and if there are new panels, it simply PROVES that lenovo knows the old panels are faulty.

But you make it fun by taking everything so seriously. I was not mocking you per se, but the general level of anal retentiveness that is sometimes displayed around here.

Are they replacing the screens in the X220Ts as well?

This would be a welcome fix.

So they have use a new panel for the current production run or will the new machines run into the same problem as the early adopters.
