quick question - considering downgrading from x230 to x220 - my 1TB msata, battery slice and 2TB 9.5mm drive will swap over without issues right? they are identical chassis?

I'm not sure about the 2TB 9.5mm drive. I believe it only fits 7mm drives, but not 100% sure. I believe I did read somewhere that you could cram a 9.5 drive in, but you may want to do some research on that.

@anarky321 if you managed to cram 9.5mm drive inside X230, you will manage to cram it inside x220 as well - one way or another. Chassis is identical except DP on X220/T vs miniDP on X230/T, and VGA port differs a little bit.

@anarky321 there's a EC firmware mod that allows to fully utilize classic keyboard on X230. X220 is better than X230 only in easier whitelist removal (allows directly flashing modded BIOS) and wider third-party battery support.
