Got mine today (i7/500-nit FHD w/ IR cam) and I'm very happy so far, even coming from my P1.

Build quality with the past generation X/P-series has been described as "inconsistent" by many (including myself), but I have to say that the screen installation and general feeling of the hardware (different keyboards were a known issue) seem improved. Obviously, I am only looking at a sample-size of one here with the X1E G2, but I've had enough experiences with poor QC with dozens of laptops over the past few years to be grateful.

I ordered one a few days ago.....and will likely be waiting a while for it. Estimated ship date is September 16.

That’s a great price, may I ask where did you buy it from?

Ordered mine over the weekend. Also looking at a 9/17 ship date. Have SSD and memory to upgrade when it gets here.

Went through the Lenovo “TicketsAtWork” portal. They had 50% off the X1E2 (still available) plus an additional 5% discount that ended Sunday.

I bought it direct from Lenovo using their Employee Purchase Program. Working for a certain company that’s often associated with the color blue has its advantages.

I’ve read that the quoted delivery time is almost never correct. I hope this is true because I don’t want to wait nearly an entire month for my computer.

Sound quality is worse on Gen 2 than Gen 1, lol. Everything else seems better. Keyboard backlight is a bit dimmer (2nd stage on gen 2 like 1st stage on gen 1). Thermals better.

How is battery life? Thoughts on the screen? And can't wait to see some performance testing on it...

7500 or so in firestrike with temps hitting 70c on CPU and 68C on GPU.

Battery life for me is around 8 hours working in Vivaldi with discord, YouTube, and Google docs.

Screen is pretty nice, but imo it's not as nice as the FHD in the XPS 15 in terms of contrast. The black levels aren't great.

Will do more testing when I have time

Wow, it is so much cheaper in US than uk!
The base model starts at £1750 and best voucher I can get is 10% off!

Ordered the base model i5 with upgraded 1080p screen for £1630

Should have flown over to America and saved money.

Well here is hoping it is better than the 300nit screen in the gen 1. That was a horrible panel, had a really horrible blurry effect and pwm which gave me headaches. Mine went straight back, loved the machine other than the screen. Here is hoping the new 500nit panel doesn’t give me headaches
