iirc The vertex 4's are 9.5 mm drives. The samsungs are 7mm You will be much happier with the 7mm units. They fit perfectly in the cage and allow you to install a 3rd drive at a later date.

I went with Crucial M4's and I am very happy with them, I believe the samsungs rate a bit higher.

I tried using some 9mm drives I had spare... it was NOT a good idea.

That is a very good point, Bro. I think I might go with 7mm drives in the end, either Crucial, Transcend 720, or maybe even the 840's if I can justify their higher price tag. :(

I am happy with my Vertex 4's. Had a faulty Sata cable but now all is good. See a quick bench Here

Too many issues in the past with OCZ drives. Their QC is terrible and Samsung/Intel will provide a more reliable experience.

I own Samsung SSD 840 and it works perfectly. I think you should spend a bit more and get Samsung 840 which is also on sale at direct bargains somewhere.

I had 2 Vertex 4 in Raid 0 up until about 2 months ago. They were about a 7 on a scale of 1-10. I sold them and got 2 OCZ Vectors in Raid 0 and I must say they are extremely fast. I'd give them a 10 and they even come with a 5 year warranty.OCZ really got it right with this one. I highly recommend them. Here's a few benchmarks from a few weeks ago.Remember they are Raid 0. I also had 2 Samsung 840 Pros in Raid 0 a couple of weeks ago and the SSs were a very little faster in AS SSD, CDM but in ATTO the Vectors were much faster. Also the SSs didn't play nice with my 680s so I sold them and put the Vectors back in. I have had 0 issues with either the Vertex or the Vectors.

If I were buying right now, I'd drop my cash on the Vector's too....

Mine work like a champion. I replaced the intel 520 with it.

I have owned Corsair, OCZ, and Intel SSD's and the only one I would say was not worth the money was the corsair SSD. For OCZ I have had the agility 2 and 3 as well as the vertex 3 and 4. The all have been more than up to par and never had an issue. I also have used the Intel 520 Cherryville SSD"s and they are very reliable but not as fast as the Vertex drives.
