Hey now. Why the redundancy? KB2976978 was in previous versions (at least v2.5 & v2.6 -which I still have on a flash). Is it necessary to uninstall KB2976978 again, after KB4015547?

I'm only asking to better understand these KB updates. Now that I'm relying solely on Simplix packs -I've had the lingering question as to why his monthly updates note "KBxxxxxxx Replaces, KBxxxxxxx". Which mad me curious as to why after running a monthly Simplix7r2, then running a Windows Update... why do certain KBs repopulate? (Perhaps this 'KB replacement variable' I described above is why your v2.7 .bat needs the duplicate KB2976978 uninstall at the end?).

Love the thread, love your hard work. Thanks!

crap. I thought I might figure out why those KBs repopulate and Simplix "replaces". Oh well. Thanks again for all your work!

Hello. Anyone have feedback as to this Roll-Up from the 4th (a Thurs.)? KB4056894. Is it unnecessary if ones AV has the REGKEY? It's pretty extensive if you look at this update's File Information.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4056894/windows-7-update-kb4056894

I guess my concern is how would a monthly Simplix pack address something tied-in to ones AV Registry Values?

A bit off-topic, but not too bad....
So whose a bigger D*CK? Brian Krzanich, or Satya Nadella?

    Thanks for your time!

Didn’t install it, thankfully, but Im going to hide it. Thank you! (I’ll be curious as to the Simplix Update though... after reading a bit of the File Update info. -for e.g., my AV has the registry key value... so how will the Simplix Pack distinguish between those w/ the AV Registry value, and those w/o?). Maybe no big deal, I hope. Really looking forward to next Simplix Update as Meltdown & Spectre p*ss me off. Thanks again!!

Figured it out (and sorry to hi-jack this thread as of late!)... so in order for the MS Meltdown & Spectre patch to work the AV Registry value must be present (if you use a 3rd party AV).
    http://www.zdnet.com/article/window...check-if-your-av-is-blocking-microsoft-patch/
About mid-page there's a breakdown of AV providers (now a bit dated).
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ ; Value Name="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc" ; Type="REG_DWORD” ; Data="0x00000000”

So just make sure to double-check your machine's registry key above before installing the next Simplix Update.

-Just saw this. Ironic, and sadly funny for AMD users that the Meltdown patch via Win10's force-fed updates bricked machines (BSOD). https://www.geekwire.com/2018/micro...tre-patches-amd-devices-fixes-brick-machines/
