    Hi,

    thank you for your compliment.

    Now I have another problem.
If have downladed the right ATI Drivers for my Graphic Card.
As I installed them, all worked fine.

Then I heard something about "Omega Drivers"
So i deisnzalled the ATI Drivers and Installed the Omega Drivers.

AfterI while I noticed, that they aren´t so good is I thought.

So I deinstalled them and installed the ATI driver again.

Two day ago I read that there are better Drivers for my grphic card from ATI.

So I installed them above the other ATI Drivers.

Well, everthing is fine, but the FN + F1, F2 etc. combinations doesn´t work anymore!!!

I tried to install the Hotkey Drivers, but it doesn´t work anymore.

I really want the FN + F1 etc. combinations work...

    What should I do???

Ah well there is another problem..

I often put my Notebook in "hibernate modus"

It often starts pefect out of it, but sometimes it chrashes by " Continuing Windows"....

What should I do againist this Problem?

    Please help me..

Hey Arki, on a follow-up of my question about the Intel Chipset, I would like to ask something:

I run this check from Intel about the kind of chipset my ThinkPad T60 have, & it not only states that (mine is the Intel 945GM chip), but it also states I should go install the Lenovo version of the chipset installer. I went over to the Lenovo Downloads & Drivers website, & I found 2 that mentions Intel Chipset:

    - Intel 945GM Display Driver
    - Intel Chipset Support 5

The first is related to the Display driver which you said must also be downloaded in this guide. The second happened to be another compulsory driver I have to install if I did not use a preloaded image.

So I seek your advice: Should I still download this Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility you stated in your manual, or the installers stated above?

Thanks a lot for taking some time to read my inquiry. I look forward to your reply soon. :)

Good luck with your installation. Report back if you need anymore help. :)

Slightly off topic but pertinent. I just installed Vista U/32 on my T60. On a clean install I viewed device manager and it listed the 945PM chipset and USB2. Is it still necessary to install this chipset driver even though Vista found them and configured it automatically on a fresh install?

Only if Windows installed an outdated version, which it probably did. I'd check anyways.

    Hi Arki,
I carefully followed your guide to install Xp on my T61.
When I finished to install Xp, I called Microsoft to activate it. Unfortunately I used an OEM version and it didn't generate the ID number to give to Microsoft.
Is there anything to bypass this problem? I also ordered from Ibm the Xp disc, but unfortunately it will not arrive before one week and now my laptop is not working.
Please keep in mind that I know how to use computers but I don't have any experience at all in set up.
    Thank you for any advice.
    Adriano

An OEM disc? Was it a Dell XP Disc...?

If so, that's where your problem is. If it's an OEM disc from a nother manufacturer, then it usually means it can only be used with that one purchased system.

You're going to have to factory restore and/or follow the posted link to create a custom disc.

    Thanks in advance. :)

BTW: my pc is x200t, installing win xp tablet pc 2005.

edit: OK. I've got it from here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=368854

    Thanks to lowspeed.

Arki: I have located all the drivers you listed but I cannot locate the Ricoh card reader controller driver. I have an x61s. Can you point me to the correct file?

Sure do appreciate the guide you have made... before I found it the whole thing seemed so overwhelming. Thank you so much. It is really quite amazing how long you have attended to this thread... you must be building up some good karma.
