Just received my new Coffe Lake based Dell XPS 9570 with Windows 10. Terrible 3DMark11 score, straight out of the box.

The laptop definiately needs Windows 7 for to eliminate problems. Let’s see if I can install and make it good at driver vise! I’ll be back in few days...

Don't forget to install the KB3064209 update for Windows 7. It's the only Intel CPU microcode update MS released for Win7 and it may be useful on modern Intel CPUs like Skylake and Kaby Lake

Damn, i’m already stuck by booting from pendrive with blue screen error “the bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant”.
I did choose legacy and disabled secure boot. Not sure what else I miss... Any idea?

Its blocked. You can't run old OS on new HW, I myself tried XP SP3 on broadwell and had same issue. Use Windows 10 19H1 or LTSC version in trial mode for best results. I'm on 19H1 and its works for now unless they break it upon release!

I hate to dredge up the past, but did you ever manage to get working audio drivers for the Nitro?

Damn, I’m might failed to install Windows 7 for Dell XPS 9570 (i’ve already sold with that garbage Windows 10), but I will be back with an XPS 9560 with I7-7700HQ. Probably it will be one of the most recent hardware to support Windows 7.

Isn’t 6th gen Intel last gen processors supporting Win 7 officially?

Officially yes. Than the 7th gen worked also with an igp driver trick, while the 8th gen did not have igp driver for very long. Recently I’ve found a hacked driver, which I’ve wanted to test, but could not manage the laptop to that level.
