Has anyone tried out windows 10 on a M11x R1? I'm interested in installing it for the DirectX12 and to be able to streamline my devices together.

No idea how it would work on the M11x R1. I've only installed Windows 10 Home 64 bit on my brother's M11x R3 so far, and it's working well on it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I haven't seen anyone with it on an R1 yet. I do have a friend that owns one, I'll ask him if he has installed Windows 10 in it, or simply try it myself if there's still one in our lab.

If an R1 has a core 2 duo then I installed Windows 10. It went well. Had to troubleshoot w/ the NVIDIA drivers a little bit, but that's all. It's only been a few days but so far so good.

where did you update your drivers from and how exactly did you trouble shoot the Nvidia drivers?

    Model: M11xR1
    OS: Windows 10
    HDD: 256GB Samsung 850 Pro
    WiFi: Intel Wireless-AC 7260
    RAM: 8GB G.Skill

    Nivdia: 9.18.13.4192
    DirectX: 11.1
    HWA: Yes

    3DMark06 Score: 6577 (Overclock)
    SM2.0 Score: 2959
    HDR/SM 3.0 Score: 3243
    CPU Score: 1414
    Clock: 570,1415,890

I have seen over 6900 on Win7 on the same notebook with these clock settings, but 6577 is still OK.

Using an M11xR1 I could install Win10 without problems.
If you use the discrete Nvidia Graphics drivers, you should be fine.
The problems starts with 'switchable' GPU as Intel does not support the GMA 4500M HD drivers on Windows 10.

With a bit of tooling around I could get the driver to work and a 1366x768 display, but as soon as I reboot the system it goes back to the 'basic' Microsoft screen driver and 1024x768 with no higher screen resolution available.

In the old days with beta Win10 I could get the whole switchable GMA/Nivida driver thing to work, but looks like with Windows 10 now, those days are gone.

I have my M11xR1 configured with Windows 10 and Windows 7 builds, as I don't want to lose Windows 7 until Windows 10 can give me an equal/better Windows experience.
This doesn't look very likely though.

But maybe there'll be an M11xR1 Champion, with good Windows skill who can engineer a few solutions. Fingers crossed.

Hi, just for a test I've also installed win 10 on my m11x r1. All is okay, I've used discrete-only mode.

NVIDIA is the only driver I've installed myself, other were installed by windows 10. Except I've got two unknown devices, any advice what could it be?
