hmm i'm only interested in having the basic store apps updated, nothing else from OS. I guess that's not possible since everything is tied nowdays?

You should be able to download apps from M$ crap Store without being forced on Win 10 1903/1909. But 1809 is soon EOL. Not sure that you can download updated apps from Store after that timeline.

I prefer lock everything out.... Check the tools http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-win-update-bios.831450/page-24#post-11015859

The Store apps cannot be installed or updated if the Windows Update service is not running.

Thanks, i found a workaround by just disabling the blocker whenever i need to update them. Still better than being forced to upgrade to a buggy OS release, lol.

I was using my laptop yesterday, converting a bunch of music files and I get a notification along the lines of "your HD is nearly full. Since storage sense is off we'll turn it on for you." Gee, thanks Microsoft, I have it turned off for a reason. So I figured I'd go into the GPE and kill storage sense there too, but I don't even have a policy for it. I have storage health, but no sense.
    What am I missing here?
