Yeah, the beauty with latest and greatest.

Don’t install KB4579311 to avoid PC crash, freeze & more windowsreport.com | Today

Almost a week ago, Microsoft pushed the Patch Tuesday cumulative updates that were supposed to fix various issues known in several Windows OS versions.

As known, Windows 10 updates, although necessary, tend to cause several issues, however, users certainly didn’t expect the multitude of errors they experienced after installing update KB4579311 (applied to version 2004).

    Then you have this....
Patch 'Bad Neighbor' TCP / IP vulnerability CVE-2020-16898 in Windows 10

Even a small addendum to the start of the week. Administrators and users should install the security updates for Windows 10 and its server counterparts from October 13, 2020 as soon as possible. Then the TCP / IP vulnerability CVE-2020-16898 ('Bad Neighbor') will be closed. US-CERT explicitly warns of this vulnerability.

Yeah, Microsoft make it damn easy for the administrators and users:D Yo all got the choice between Pest or Cholera. Microsoft offer it for free, LOOL

Microsoft is fixing a Edge bug that installed web apps without permission windowslatest.com - October 19, 2020

As we reported last week, Microsoft has been installing the firm's Office web apps on Windows 10 PCs without user permission. This behaviour was first noticed by testers in the Windows Insider program, but later the non-Insiders also started reporting that web apps are getting installed without any interaction....

Of course it will be bugs when same engineers spend all the time on other things... Etc make the life for the users more like a hell...

Microsoft makes it difficult to download Microsoft Edge with Firefox and Chrome
    ghacks.net | October 19, 2020

Many Windows users use the built-in web browser of the operating system to download other browsers to their system. First it was Internet Explorer, then the classic Edge, and now the new Edge that has been used for that purpose. Microsoft is still in the process of pushing its new Edge browser to Windows systems, and many systems, for instance Windows 10 systems right after installation, still come without the new version of Edge.

Windows users who want to download the new browser, for instance after the installation of Windows on a device, may notice that it is not as easy as opening the Microsoft Edge download page and clicking on the download button displayed on that page.

It seems MS Edge 85.x started force usage of MS account eventhough I haven't logged in using MS account. I dunno when MS account was logged in and enabled timeline and activity history when I had it disabled using privatezilla/win aero tweaker months ago.

They are essentially digital rapists now. If you're not willing to give it freely then just they take it by force. They probably believe that everyone likes it and secretly want it even when they have very clearly and unequivocally communicated that they do not. Nice business model. NOT!

Microsoft is very keen to get you as guinea pig without being blamed for push on you buggy Windows 10 feature updates that have compatibility issues with your hardware. Hence the new changes.

You can now get Windows 10 feature updates instantly with new setting windowslatest.com - October 23, 2020

Windows 10 feature updates are pushed to users in stages – with Microsoft first offering the update to Surface users and compatible hardware. After Windows 10 version 1809 file deletion bug nightmare, Microsoft is understandably cautious, and perhaps as a result of this, Microsoft has introduced “compatibility hold” to delay the updates.

After almost two years, Microsoft has finally realized that some users may THEY want YOU to install feature updates at any rate and its current approach could lead to some people scratching their heads over uninformative upgrade block notifications.

And of course it comes with bugs.... "Interestingly, this policy is reset after an update. If you want to use it again for future releases, you’ll need to reenable it by following the steps highlighted above". Most likely intended... They have by this got you in their guinea pig trap and can close the door! Yeah, it looks like they are willing to walk over dead bodies to increase it's market share for latest and greatest:D

Microsoft account locks: That's what the lawyer says ...
Posted on October 23, 2020 by Günter Born

I'll take an old topic out of the crypt again: It is about arbitrary Microsoft, because of alleged violations, blocked Microsoft accounts. I'm keeping the subject simmering with Martin Geuss - and Martin has now been able to ask a lawyer a few questions on the subject.

The position of the lawyer who represents the plaintiff in a German court against Microsoft Ireland is therefore clear. Microsoft is likely to draw the shorter in this process because of an arbitrary account lock.

That's the good news, now let's move on to the bad news. When Microsoft locks up, you first look old as a user. You can take legal action - which, according to Martin , can take between three to seven years because of the necessary march through all instances to the BGH. The lawyer suspects that Microsoft is first trying to clarify the individual cases as quietly as possible.

You can read more details from Martin Geuss in this article. At this point I would like to thank Martin, who is responsible for keeping the topic in focus and preparing it accordingly.
