"Microsoft says June 2020 updates break Outlook for some users"

    - Microsoft says in a support document recently published that Outlook will fail to start for some users, automatically displaying an error prompting the users to repair some inbox files.

    - ...all users who have updated Outlook to version 2005 Build 12827.20268 or higher will see an error prompt saying that "Something is wrong with one of your data files and Outlook needs to close. Outlook might be able to fix your file. Click OK to run the Inbox Repair Tool."

    - ...known issue as being caused by the June 2020 updates

    - No fix yet, workaround available

We know what a new round of Windows updates means... New bugs to watch and new work-arounds to deploy

" Microsoft’s new Windows File Recovery app helps recover deleted data "

    - Have you ever accidentally deleted a file and wondered if you can get it back?

    - Microsoft’s new Windows File Recovery app will assist in recovering files that you may have deleted and want to bring back, or resolve issues with corrupted data.

    - The Windows File Recovery app can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store on Windows 10

Remember when Norton Utilities used to do cool things like this? Regardless of what was then, this is a much needed utility for Win 10 world.

"This Registry trick lets you block major Windows 10 updates"

    - a Group policy and Registry tweak that allows you to specify the specific Windows version you wish to stay on and prevent new feature updates from being installed.

    - With May 2020 Update, to simplify the Windows Update experience and prevent confusion, Microsoft removed the defer feature update setting for users running Pro, Enterprise, and Education versions.

    - ... new Windows policy called 'TargetReleaseVersionInfo' that prevents Windows 10 feature updates from being installed.

    - To specify the target release version of Windows 10, follow these steps: ...

epguy3 let us know they removed it in the post above. Who knows how long the work-around in this article will be effective.

"Microsoft announces new Windows 10 Start menu design and updated Alt-Tab"

    - Other improvements include a new taskbar layout

    - Microsoft is introducing a new Windows 10 Start menu design that will de-emphasize its Live Tiles

    - “Beginning with today’s build, all tabs open in Microsoft Edge will start appearing in Alt-Tab, not just the active one in each browser window,” explains Microsoft.

    - The default taskbar appearance will also now be more personalized with the Xbox app pinned for Xbox Live users or Your Phone pinned for Android users.

The sooner we can erase Windows 8 UI from everyone's memory the better. But the Alt-Tab for open tabs?? Can't wait to they see most ppl I know who have 25-150 tabs on their browser at any given time. That feature will quickly be placed in "File 13."

"Microsoft releases urgent security updates for Windows 10 Codecs bugs"

    - Microsoft has released two out-of-band security updates to address remote code execution security vulnerabilities affecting the Microsoft Windows Codecs Library on Windows 10, version 1709 or later.

    - The security updates addressing these security issues will be installed automatically on all vulnerable systems unless automatic updating for Microsoft Store apps is disabled.

Another day another Microsoft security announcement!

    https://www.pcworld.com/article/356...ajor-changes-to-start-taskbar-and-alttab.html
The overall design is more reminiscent of the Windows 10X UI Microsoft demonstrated earlier this year, with a more minimalist approach that Microsoft said was deliberate.

Yeah, what it will looks like ...
Hands on with Windows 10X: Microsoft's dual-screen OS is shallow but slick
    https://www.pcworld.com/article/352...ofts-dual-screen-os-is-shallow-but-slick.html

Not sure this is what you want!

“tablet OS mixed with a phone OS mixed with Windows 10“ Unisex as Win 8

    Microsoft’s way!

OneDrive simplifies document sharing by making it even more complex

Microsoft has somehow managed to take what you might think to be a fairly simple process—sharing a document—and Microsoft-ed it.
