Im trying to stream something online. I notice they have a message that says flash player is not updated etc.

I checked my computer and typed in adobe but i do not find it there. Im pretty sure i have a flash player.

Can someone tell me how do i find out if i have a flash player? I was pretty sure i downloaded adobe x or something like that a while ago. And also where would i download the adobe flash player for windows 10?

That message is a really typical phishing scam trying to get you to install malware by saying its a flash player installer or your flash is out of date.

To see what flash player version you have installed go into windows 10 control panel and you'll see the flash player icon. click it and go to the updates tab. It will tell you the version installed. The current version is 26.0.0.151

Go here to make sure you have the latest version: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash (uncheck any extra software offers).

The current security bulletin is here with directions on how to get the latest flash:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb17-23.html

If your using edge browser, those updates are pushed by microsoft in windows updates, but sometimes lag behind the official update. you can check here:
    https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-US/security-guidance/advisory/ADV170009

I always try and post the adobe flash security updates Here, because flash is highly abused for malware delivery so you always want to have the latest version.

Are you using chrome? You may need to add the site to the list of those allowed to run flash (Settings -> Advanced -> Content Settings -> Flash).

Unless we get a screen shot most times I seen this popup is a scam or infected site wanting to malware your system. Stop going to those sites unless you want to become a zombie botnet for them or malware infested computer. If your flash was out of date adobe flash updater would popup by itself not from a site that you visit that should be a red flag something isn't right.

This is also a VERY common problem for Chrome users. https://help.hbogo.com/hc/en-us/art...Play-Video-Adobe-Flash-Error-in-Google-Chrome

There is a faster way. Next to the Home button in chrome, you'll see where the site is marked as "secure", or the "(i)" icon. Just click on that and you can choose to allow Flash to run on a per-site basis.

Until they indicate what Browser no one can be sure which browser they are using here. I seen Adobe Flash Update do it's own popup after doing it's own update check to indicate your Flash is out of Date if you set it to alert or do Auto Update then you will know whether the message is a legit or not really coming from Adobe but a scam site.

Which is why the first question I asked was if they're using Chrome...

Flash is integrated into Chrome, so no Flash updates are ever required.
