I can't see a single reason to jump on the new and flawed. But this is as expected. It looks like Windows as a Services go from bad to even worse. And they have still not reached the bottom of the hill. As a railroad down to Hell with no escape route. The only viable Win 10 version is 2019 LTSC. And this barely.

Microsoft’s ready to push that puppy out the update chute. You don’t want it until it’s been thoroughly tested, and tested again.

Susan Bradley and I have teamed up to take you step-by-step through the process for blocking Win10 version 20H2 until you’re good ‘n ready to install it.

    Details in this Computerworld How-To.

wouldn't it be weird (and maybe superstitious) if MS actually released the 20H2 version to the public this Tuesday October 13 (hmm, the 13th of October)?

I'm wondering when it's going to be? I can't wait to have a more cohesive start menu design.

No I don't. I don't use win 10 most of the time unless I'm gaming or using Ms office. Most of the times, I use Linux.

I have not gotten that message when using either 1809 education or ltsc 2019 (win10 pro is not good enough 4 me - at least the enterprise/education and ltsc editions have longer support life spans than the home/pro editions)

    ---

looks like that did not happen at all. instead MS released another new 20H2 build to insiders in the beta & RP channels this past Tuesday with build 19042.572

Even Stupid can sometimes see their limits.
Microsoft should rather use all aviable engineers to fix flaws and bugs in current versions. And May Update is still not available for everyone. The 20H2 update should have been scrapped and rather be pushed as May 2021 update.

[German]Are HP business notebooks with Windows 10 2004 are having currently issues with HP Sure Recover? I have just come across a case in connection with an HP Elitebook and HP Sure Recover that raises questions. Here is a short summary of what I have just come across.

HP Issues Sure Click Enterprise 4.2 Patch 1 to fix Initialization Failures caused by Windows Updates (October 2020) askwoody.com | October 16th, 2020
Posted on October 15, 2020, HP announced the release of HP Sure Click Enterprise 4.4 Patch 1 and Bromium Secure Platform 4.1 Update 8 (Patch 5) to fix Initialization failures caused by October 2020 Windows Updates.

    Issue Description
After installing any of the referenced Windows Update KBs below, HP Sure Click Enterprise and Bromium Secure Platform will be unable to successfully initialize. New initialization attempts will fail with error UPDATEGUEST_NETWORK_SETUP_FAIL. Your devices will continue to work until a new initialization is needed, giving you additional time to rollback the Microsoft KBs. New initialization requests would generally be caused by:

    • Upgrading supported applications to a new major version, such as Chrome, Microsoft Office or Adobe Reader.

    • Manually requesting a new initialization from the Desktop Console

    • Installing a new version of HP Sure Click Enterprise
This is a list of the Windows Updates affected

    • KB4579311 – Windows 10 Version 2004 x64
    • KB4577671 – Windows 10 Version 1903 x64
    • KB4577671 – Windows 10 Version 1909 x64

Why Windows 10 is pushing outdated drivers via Windows Update windowslates.com - October 15, 2020

Windows 10 is now pushing outdated drivers and it could cause issues if you have the habit of installing updates without paying attention to the driver version number and its release date.
